My name is Luisa and I am 33 years old. I went to the chiropractic center because I have several chronic diseases, including fibromyalgia . One of the disorders of fibromyalgia is insomnia¹, and I had not been able to sleep for more than two hours at a time for more than 18 years.
Furthermore, arthritis² – another disease frequently associated with fibromyalgia – meant that when I walked I had to stop every 5 minutes, because the pain in my legs was horrendous. Many times my husband had to help me get out of bed, because he couldn’t do it alone. Added to this were intense headaches.
Since going to the chiropractor , my recovery has evolved little by little. I have already stopped taking many medications. Always with the approval of my family doctor, who I have to say is a charm, and who has always encouraged me to continue seeing the chiropractor .
Chiropractic improved my quality of life
My life has improved, especially in quality and a significant decrease in pain. Although the pain has not completely disappeared (that is impossible in fibromyalgia ), it has nothing to do with my situation prior tochiropractic treatment . Now I don’t depend on anyone and I can walk for more than an hour at a time without my legs hurting. I can get out of bed by myself. The headaches and tingling in the arms and legs have almost completely disappeared. And the best of all is that I am sleeping 6 hours straight without the pain waking me up! You don’t know how bad it is when you can’t sleep for years…

¹ Insomnia and Fibromyalgia
Although the medical literature has devoted little attention to sleep compared to other symptoms of fibromyalgia, the American College of Rheumatology has recently proposed that sleep be a central aspect of the clinical evaluation of fibromyalgia. (Ref. dolor.org.co )
² Fibromyalgia and arthritis Fibromyalgia
and arthritis are different diseases although they share many symptoms and people with arthritis are much more likely to also suffer from fibromyalgia . (Ref. arthritis.org )
